General Registration:
- First, each family creates a user account. Using this family login, all children in the family can be registered with their own profile.
- If a user account already exists from a previous Holiday Pass, it can of course be used. In this case, registration is no longer necessary.
- Minors are not permitted to create their own accounts.
- Only your own children may be registered in your account, not their friends or relatives.
- All events listed under "Youth Programs" can be booked directly (without a lottery).
Registration for the Holiday Pass:
- The first registration phase runs from Tuesday, June 16, to Tuesday, June 23, 2026. During this time, each child can select and prioritize a limited number of events.
- On Wed, June 24, spots will be assigned by lottery. Afterward, each family will receive an email and can also view the booked spots in their user account. Registration is now binding, and payment can be made.
- Places are assigned by lottery. This means that the order in which registrations are received during the registration period does not matter.
- After the first lottery, any remaining spots can be booked directly. It’s definitely worth checking back!
- Each child can book a maximum of 3 events per day.
- Sometimes spots become available at the last minute. It’s therefore worth checking back even at the last minute.
- Multiple registrations for the same events are possible to increase your chances of winning the lottery. However, you will only receive multiple spots if fewer children have registered than there are spots available.
-
The Holiday Pass is primarily intended for all children in Nordhorn up to and including age 12. However, there are also activities for older children (up to age 18).
In the summer, there is a separate vacation program for teens aged 13 and older: the "Sommerloch?"Vacation guests—that is, children who are spending their vacation with their grandparents, for example—can also take advantage of these activities.
A note for children from other municipalities in the County of Bentheim: In the lottery, children from Nordhorn are given priority. If spots are still available after that, children from other municipalities may also participate. We primarily recommend the great vacation programs offered by the other municipalities in the County of Bentheim.
-
Even without registering, you can browse our offers and create a wish list. Any offer you mark with a heart will appear on this list.
This way, you can first collect all the offers that interest you and then choose which ones you’d like to sign up for.
The wish list is non-binding and does not constitute a booking.
-
Prioritizing means that you can arrange the offers in the order you want: the most important first, the least important last.
You can set this order via the "Registrations" menu item. You must be logged in to do this.
This order will be taken into account during the drawing.
-
When booking activities, you can specify that you’d like to participate only with another child—or not at all. For a “friends” booking, (at least) two families must coordinate with each other.
- The family that books first can generate a friend code and share it with the other family. Unfortunately, a friend code cannot be generated retroactively. Instead, the booking must be deleted and repeated.
- The family or families booking afterward can then enter the friend code provided by the first family.
Both families can see in the portal that the friend registration was successful.
Why does the friend booking reduce my chances of participating?
The friend booking reduces the likelihood of getting a spot, especially for highly sought-after programs. To give a simple example: With 10 available spots and 20 children wanting a spot, the probability of getting a spot (for one person) is 50%. The probability that two people will get a spot at the same time is then halved, so it’s 25%. The chance that the children will get a spot is therefore halved.
That’s why you should always think carefully about whether or not to choose the “Friends” booking option.
-
There are both free and paid options. Details can be found in the descriptions of the respective events.
After making a binding reservation, payment can be processed online via a button in the Family Log-In.
Various payment options are available. The PayPal option is available for total amounts of €15 or more. If multiple children are registered under one account, payment can be made as a single transaction.

Discounts are available for events organized by the City of Nordhorn through the Nordhorn Pass.
For more information: Call 878 329 or 878 347, or email ferienpass@nordhorn.de
All offers can be paid for with the Education and Participation Voucher (BuT). Simply send a photo of the BuT card showing the child’s date of birth to ferienpass@nordhorn.de.

Many events are, of course, open to children with disabilities, and participation is generally possible. Please feel free to contact us: Tel. 878 436, ferienpass@nordhorn.de. Suitable support persons can be requested from the Lebenshilfe Family Relief Service, Tel. 806555.
Whether an event is wheelchair-accessible is indicated in the respective event description.
-
In the rare event that we have to cancel a session on very short notice (less than 30 hours before the scheduled session), we will send a text message to all affected families.
-
All registrations are binding! We strongly urge you not to book on a whim and then cancel later. This is fairer to the other children and essential for our ability to plan our programs effectively.
Of course, circumstances may still arise that make cancellation necessary. Cancellations for valid reasons will be accepted with a refund of the participation fee only up to three days before the event at the latest.
For last-minute bookings made less than three days before the event, this means: The payment obligation applies in any case, even if the registration is subsequently canceled.
Cancellations must be made via the Family Login. To receive a refund, please email your bank account details to ferienpass@nordhorn.de.
Please be sure to cancel your child’s registration—even at short notice—if they cannot attend, so that another child can take their place.
-
No, there is no waiting list. When a spot becomes available, it can be booked again through the portal. So it’s worth checking back even at the last minute.
-
Participants are covered by limited accident insurance provided by the City of Nordhorn during the Ferienpass events. The City of Nordhorn does not provide insurance for participants’ personal property or for damage caused by participants. Participants must follow the instructions of the event organizers.
-
The activity descriptions will let you know if the children need to bring anything special. In addition, please make sure they wear weather-appropriate clothing or suitable work clothes for the workshops, and athletic shoes and sportswear for the sports activities. Be sure to bring plenty of drinks and, for activities lasting several hours, a small snack.

Although the organizers and the City of Nordhorn do not take photos, audio recordings, or videos during all activities, they do so occasionally during the vacation programs. They would like to use these recordings to document and show the public just how colorful and diverse the vacation programs are. For this reason, the recordings will be stored and published, for example, in the press, on the internet, or on social media.
Consent to allow photo and audio recordings during activities requiring registration will be requested for each vacation period.
However, there are also open programs that do not require registration. Even at these events, organizers may take photos, videos, and/or audio recordings. If this is the case, it will be indicated by notices posted at the event location.
If parents or guardians or children do not consent to this, they may speak with the on-site staff. The staff will then, for example, delete any photos that have been taken and ensure that no new recordings of the individuals in question are made during the event.
